About Vazier Counseling, PLLC

I’m April Murray-Bravo, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Certified Sex Therapist based in Dallas, Texas.

I work with individuals and couples who want more than surface-level conversations. My focus is on relationships, intimacy, and the patterns that quietly shape both—whether that’s disconnection, desire differences, betrayal, or navigating nontraditional dynamics.

This includes work with couples who feel stuck or disconnected, individuals trying to understand themselves, including relationships, and clients exploring or already engaged in kink, power exchange, or open relationship structures. In a space where those conversations are not avoided, softened, or judged.

Therapy with me is direct, thoughtful, and intentional. Most people need more than just communication tools, they need clarity around what they’re feeling, wanting, and avoiding. We look at the patterns that keep repeating, the conversations that aren’t being had, and the disconnect between what you say you want and what’s actually happening.

I’m not here to take sides or offer quick fixes. I’m here to help you understand what’s underneath and what to do with it because when that shifts, everything else starts to move.

I believe intimacy requires honesty, not just effort. Desire doesn’t thrive in avoidance, and relationships don’t improve by accident. I also believe that many people have never had a space to explore these things openly especially when it comes to sex, power, and identity. You don’t have to filter yourself here.

Clients often describe this work as grounding, but challenging; direct, but not overwhelming; structured, but flexible. There’s space for depth, but also movement.

We’re not circling the same conversations for months; we’re working toward real change.

This work is a good fit if you’re willing to look at yourself honestly, you want more than temporary relief, you want lasting change, and you’re open to conversations that may feel uncomfortable, but necessary. I am not the right fit if you’re looking for quick answers or someone to only validate your perspective.

If you’re ready to approach your relationship, your intimacy, or yourself differently, I invite you to schedule a consultation.

Common Therapy Approaches

Existential therapy focuses on you as a whole person rather than just your symptoms. Anxiety is a part of being human, but through individual therapy you can develop self-awareness and clarity to maximize your potential.

The psychoanalytic approach allows us to explore thoughts and emotions deeply rooted in your subconscious mind and bring them into awareness so you can better understand and manage them.

Solution-focused therapy emphasizes building sustainable solutions rather than focusing on past problems. Together, we will identify your strengths and create practical steps toward the future you want.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based treatment for anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and other mental health concerns. CBT helps you recognize negative thought patterns and behaviors so you can respond to challenges in a more effective way.

It is important to note that I use many therapy approaches, and those listed above are a few examples of commonly used approaches. I am able to use approaches designed to meet your specific needs.
